Hi all, hope you are well. Me and hubby are under the weather. All snuffly and feeling sorry for ourselves. I'm watching yet another repeat of Friends on E4. We have all the episodes on dvd but i still watch them on tv. I NEVER get bored with them. I know a lot of the lines by heart and am always joining in with them. It's just perfect chill out tv when there's nothing else on.
I'm looking forward to a new program about make up artists thats on Really (sky channel)  It looks like Americas Next Top Model - but for make up artists!
So, back to make up. I have been trying to come up with a look for a make up contest i wanted to enter on youtuube (and driving myself crazy in the process) It took 4 attempts but finally got one i was reasonably happy with.  I used  a Maybelline stick foundation, then applied a Rimmel cream eyeshadow over it, blending it with my fingers.
Next i patted a Stargazer white eyeshadow all over my face, with a sponge.
I used a Sleek eye pencil to draw a pattern over the top half of my face.I started one side, did the other then decided to join the two up. It was completely free hand, i wasnt copying a picture and didnt use a stencil or anything. i just let my imagination go wild. The  Sleek liner didnt  show up very well, so i used a W7 Turqouise Sparkle Stik over it. Finally i applied Collection 2000 Glam Crystal in Pow over the pencil. This added a really pretty sparkly effect.
I used the Sleek liner to out line and fill my lips in,then applied Kiddie Pool over it (light blue Urban Decay eyeshadow with glitter) Heres the finished look.
I have to admit this look doesnt work very well in photos. The white base looks quite harsh and the glitter does not show. In real life, this looked very pretty, sparkly and the white lookeed soft and contrasted with the blue beautifuly (which is why i did it). If you want to see the video here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qME1t5tJxrc
I will be entering at least another two contests in the next week . I will try and do them as photo tutorials on my blog & video tutorials on Youtube.
Well the program about make up artists is now on so i will say bye for now. Take care guys

Sexy Smokey Eyes

The smokey eyed look has been popular with women across the world, for many years. It's a firm favourite with celebrities on the red carpet, and it's been one of my most requested looks on my youtube channel. But smokey eyes do not have to be brown, grey or black. The following photos are from my latest tutorial - blue smokey eyed look.

Like it? Want to know how to do it? Here's the link for the tutorial (hope it works) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icQIH-h5jyg

I used an eyeshadow palette from Next, called Midnight Eyes.

I love this palette. The colours are well pigmented and blend well. I don't know if Next still sell make up or if it was just a christmas thing.

Sorry this is a short entry but it's getting late and i need to get some sleep.

Take care and dont forget to click on the link to see the tutorial

Bad Bad Day

Woo hoo my second entry in one week - im on fire lol. Ok this could be a long one so get yourself a beverage of your choice and get comfy.

About a month ago my husband was referred to a consultant psychiatrist, because his depression had deteriated very quickly and the doctor was unsure what to do about his medication (he has been on a lot of different anti depressants, that havent worked). The psychiatrist was great and wanted to change the medication and see my husband again. Unfortunately, he never sent the information to our doctor, so my husbands medication stayed the same, his depression got even worse and the panic attacks were horrific. We tried to get in cotact with him but he was on holiday! We went back to the doctor twice - both times the doctor was ill so he had to see a locum who was useless. Anyway, yesterday we had to see the psychiatrist again. I felt really ill and my husband self harmed while i was asleep, which wasnt the nicest way to start the day. It took me ages to calm him down so by the time we got there i was struggling to keep it together.

We arrived early and were told to wait in a small room. My husband started getting very anxious.

Time ticked on.

Then this bloke who also had an appointment with the same

psychiatrist came in. He was quite agitated and wouldnt sit down, the room was very small so we couldnt move away, this was making my husband VERY anxious and at one point i thought he was going to leg it. Then this blokes girlfriend came in and she wouldnt sit down either and then they kept standing in front of the door which was quite intimidating.Well i had too drag my hubby back to reception just to make sure the psychiatrist knew we were there (this was 40 mins After our appointment should have started) and guess what? The women who signed us in didnt tell anyone we were there!

At this point the psychiatrist pitched up - with loads of files - to see the other bloke! By now my husband was extremely anxious and it was taking everything i had to keep him there and try to calm him down. Everyone was very apologetic and they made us a cup of tea while we waited to see him. The funny thing was this women who was something to do with therepy, heard my husbands name and came in to see us. Turns out she had sent us a letter about the possibility of therepy, but my hubby hadnt been up to phoning her. So we were able to book an appointment there and then for my husband to be assessed.

My husband broke down a couple of times when we saw the psychiatrist, so i was trying to comfort him, whilst keeping myself together. Basically hubby is now on new medication and we have to go back in a month.

We went to see my mum afterwards, then he had a doctors appointment in the afternoon. By the time we got home i started crying.

I think one of the hardest things to make other people understand, is how emotionally, mentally and physically draining it can be, living with some one who has severe depression and panic attacks. Because mine are bad too, it's even worse. But at least we understand what each other is going through.

On a different subject, i posted a tutorial last night on youtube. Here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yr8FjBchf0

I used 2 Beautylicious eye pigments. The purple on the lid is called Majesty and the blue on the crease is Paradise. I am thinking of buying them as they are beautiful colours. (i was sent 6 free, small samples)
I used a Sleek glitter liner in Diablo (think ive spelt it wrong!) It's a beautiful vibrant colour, but does not apply well. Collection 2000 does a similair coloured Glam Crystal liner called Dancing Queen, which applies much better.
Well i think thats about it for now. Oh, i just discovered i had a couple of comments on my posts, how do i reply to them?
Take care and check out my youtube channel for makeup tutorials and reviews.

Time to catch up!

Hey guys, hope you are all well. I know i havent posted anything in ages, but things have been tough the last couple of months. My husbands depression has been extremely bad (mine isnt great either) and our panic attacks have been horrendous so haven't been out much at all. I lost interest in doing videos for my youtube channel - just didnt feel like putting make up on. Fortunately i had a couple of videos that i had already done, so i posted them instead.

My subscribers have been great through this difficult time, which i am so grateful for. At one point i nearly closed my youtube account, but i had so many messages of support that i changed my mind.

Things are still difficult My husbands medication is about to be changed, which is always tough for the first few weeks. So we are trying to prepare for that. We also just found out that our GP is leaving. Its so hard to find a doctor who really understands depression, panic attacks and how they affect every aspect of daily life. We finally get a doctor who we can open up to and he leaves! (this has happened to us before.Oh dear, maybe it's us lol)

Enough of that, lets talk make up!

It was our 6th wedding anniversary last month and my hubby got me some fab make up including this gorgeous Too Faced Smokey Eye palette. The shadows are split into 3 looks. The top row has neautral colours to create a day smokey eye. The middle row has a gorgeous green and blue, teamed with a neutral highlight colour. to create a fashion smokey eye. The bottom row has silver black and a charcoal colour for a classic smokey eye.

.
You also get 3 cards that have pictures of the finished look, as well as brief, simple written instructions. Personally i don't think the instructions quite match up to the pictures, so i tend to work from the pictures.

Too Faced eye shadows are well pigmented, easy to blend and long wearing. So although they are more expensive than drugstore brands, you really do get what you pay for.

I also got a Too Faced Pink Diamond palette
(i cant remember the exact name) This is a really cute gift set. The eyeshadows are small, but very pretty and not as intense as they look. The lip colours are quite large and pretty but they wont last long on your lips

There are 2 eyebrow powders (brown duo under the green and white shadows). This kit has a lot of shimmer products, so steer clear if you are not a fan of shimmer.

He also got me this AMAZING Smashbox Ultimate Palette. It is truely magnificent. Here is a photo of the 70 eyeshadows.

These are beautiful, neutral shadows. There are lots of browns to choose from, but you also have dusky rose shades, silvers and icy blues. You can create a natural look for the day and a smokey look for the evening

But wait, theres more! You also get 6 eye brow powders & wax to groom them. 8 cream eyeliners, 4 large lip colours, 8 large lip glosses (sheerer than the lip colours) bronzer, blusher and 2 shimmery powders that can be used on the top of your cheekbones, under your brows, on the collar bone etc + 4 mini brushes

I cannot express how amazing this palette is, or how much i love it. This is so versatile and perfect for anyone who loves make up. It isnt as big as you might expect but all the products are really good sizes. It is also much more affordable than you might think. It costs about £35. It may sound a lot but remember you are getting 70 eyeshadows,12 lip colours, brow products and face products.
Smashbox are renowned within the beauty industry, because of their top quality products. Again they can be pricey, so it's much cheaper to buy one of their kits.
http://www.justbeautydirect.co.uk/ has the best range of Smashbox products i've seen. (its where this palette came from) You get a free sample sachet with your orders (usually a smashbox primer) and a free gift with any order over £35 (not including postage) You can get free delivery, but i cant remember how much your order has to be worth to qualify for this.
Well i think i will leave it there for now. I will be updating my blog much more frequently as i have lots of products i want to talk about and more looks to show you.
Take care people

Purple and Silver Party Look

Hi guys, hope you are all well. One of my Youtuber subscribers requested a purple and silver party look. This is what i came up I have had lots of great feedback and it was such fun to do. Hope you like it.

In real life the purple is vibrant and the silver is sparkley Your eyes will definetley get you noticed. Perfect if you want to capture a 'certain someones' attention. If you want to know how to recreate this look & what products were used just click on this link for a step by step tutorial
If you want to request a look, but dont use youtube (or prefer photo tutorials) just let me know. I dont embed my videos as a lot of beauty gurus on youtube are having videos stolen and posted on numerous sites without permission, and making money from them. So i wont be posting videos here. But i am happy to do a step by step photo tutorial. If you have any make up questions please let me know and i will do my best to answer them.
I just want to emphasise I am NOT a professional make up artist and have had no formal training. I just love anything and everything to do with make up and hope i can help other people do the same.
Well thats it for now, i will do a new post very soon dealing with foundation. Till then Take care.
